Gaining firsthand insight into a top marketing agency is an opportunity that most people our age won’t have for years! My internship at Royall & Company was by far one of the most valuable learning experiences I’ve had and one that I know will help me throughout my professional career.

Being a summer intern at Royall & Company was an incredible, eye-opening experience. I was immersed in the business from the moment I stepped through the doors, which helped me to know this wasn’t going to be your typical internship.

This summer at Royall & Company has been my first ‘real work’ experience and, for this I consider myself very lucky. Envelope stuffing and coffee runs, which seem to be standard intern tasks, are unheard of here at Royall. I have been treated as a valuable member of the family. Every day is filled with new and exciting lessons and challenging assignments. The people that work at Royall are genuinely committed to their work—they have been more than kind, and their passion is contagious. In addition to the close relationships with staff, I have made life-long friendships with my fellow interns. Overall, this experience has been invaluable.

Working at Royall & Company has been a life-changing experience for me. I entered the internship with an idea of business culture and was instantly amazed and impressed by the feel and the nature of the company. Royall possesses a friendly, family-like atmosphere that is reflected in the way they treat their clients. Their clients are not customers—they are partners. With a strong commitment to assisting universities in attaining a diversified student body (in every sense of the word), Royall & Company is truly the best in its field, and it has been my distinct honor and privilege to identify myself as an employee, even if just for six weeks. If you are looking for a place where you can make a difference in the lives of others, this is certainly the place for you.

Interning at Royall & Company was not just a tremendous opportunity; it was a great experience. I had the privilege of learning about all aspects of both marketing and higher education while just enjoying my time there. It was hard work, but it was also fun. And though I never expected to intern at a direct marketing company, I’m glad I did. The underlying principles that I learned about the business and the keen insight into the world of higher education will prove to be invaluable assets in the years to come. Royall is a special place with a special mission—one I’m proud to have been a part of.

Walking on the red carpet to my own desk each day is a pretty nice feeling. Seriously, the carpet really is red, sometimes. The bright colors around the office, walls, floors, furniture give Royall an atmosphere that’s about as far from NBC’s The Office as you can get. I got to work on big-time projects for big-time schools like Tulane University. I do graphic design, so thinking that what I do sitting at my desk might be seen by 50,000 high school students is a pretty empowering feeling.

I learned so much more about marketing and business than I ever thought I would. The scary part? I actually enjoyed learning about the business side of everything.

I consider myself lucky that I was assigned to work with such a friendly, intelligent, funny group of people that always made me feel welcome.
I learned so much in my short 8 weeks. Seeing that I can perhaps make it--and maybe even have a good time--in the “real world” is very comforting for a rising senior in college.

I've been talking with a lot of others about their summer job and internship experiences and mine shines in comparison. I feel like I learned so much about direct marketing and higher education recruitment techniques- and I KNOW that I had more fun than everyone else I've talked with…I miss Royall!
